And it sounds like the type R is making significantly more power than claimed by Honda.

The Type-R is legit. There is a guy who I’ve seen at the last two Auto-X events and he’s running the car in bone stock trim and stock tires and he is on-par with some local Focus RS’s on Bridgestone RE-71's.

Last time I was at a track, I brought a friend in his new sti. It’s his first performance car and he kept on telling me how jealous I should be since I had rwd. Halfway through, it started pouring. He looks at me and says, “bet you wish you had awd now!”
He crashed (was on the hooked for 3k in bumper/paint repairs) and I enjoyed kicking the back end out around every. Single. Bend. It was my most enjoyable track day by far
